I had planned to see the mountain hares today, but it turned out much wetter and windier than I anticipated. I decided to do some more comfortable wildlife photography instead: red deer. When photographing red deer most of the time your car is your best hide, so if it gets too wet, you just shut your window. There was the occasional ray of sunshine between the showers, but most of the time it was pretty wet. There were plenty of stags in the glen.
The advantage of bad weather is that sometimes you get something a bit more unusual. In this case a stag was shaking off the rain and I managed to get a nice series of shots of it. I always find it fascinating that often when animals shake their fur or feathers some parts of their head are completely still. In this case the antlers didn't move while the stag was vehemently shaking its fur.
