Last weekend I went to a local wood. It was a calm and sunny afternoon and it started to feel a bit like spring. I started out doing some close up nature photography, but then I got into photographing the trees whilst moving the camera. I have done this many times before using a tripod and lowering the camera while you take the photo with a relatively long shutterspeed. I call them ‘moving pictures’, being a fan of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series.
This time I hand-held the camera. It doesn’t always work because you have to make sure you move the camera along with the tree trunks, otherwise it gets a bit messy. It all depends on the speed with which you move the camera. I came home with a few images that I really like. They are all quite different. You can judge for yourself whether you like these type of photos or not.
