In the last few months a friend and I have spent a lot time photographing mountain hares. We have had a lot of clear days with snow on the hills and pretty accessible roads. There seem to be two categories of hare, the runners and the sitters. Some hares just sit still and assume their winter coat provides enough camouflage, whilst others run even if you are still a speck on the horizon. Usually you can approach the sitters carefully and eventually they let you come very close. After a while they pretend you are not there and they start eating or washing themselves. They are such photogenic creatures. I have added a few of my favourite shots.
